There are three phases of this project:

Phase 1:
Interactive Community Research

Building Blocks meets with neighbors and local organizations over the course of 2-4 months to identify areas of interest that they would like to open up to innovative exploration by the greater community. We analyze this information to choose a specific issue area to work on as neighbors.

Phase 1b:
Deep Diving into the Selected Issue

Deep Dive: This phase facilitates small groups of community members in a process of discussion and pop-up workshops to identify areas of interest and resources to use within the neighborhood while building ideas.

Phase 2:
Collaborative Problem Solving

Development, prototyping, refinement and reflection: This phase leads the physical development of the action group’s ideas. Small-scale prototypes are created, followed by group discussions of what is learned. Those learnings become incorporated into the next implementation until a viable and outcome is achieved. Partner organization(s) will be invited to regularly sit in on presentations of the various project phases and iterations to ensure stakeholders are heard throughout the process.

Observation, Evaluation & Testing
